“They finally let us in the door now we own the building” comments Big Boss Vette when being asked about women's impact currently in the music industry. Known for her hit “Pretty Girls Walk”,the Missouri native just recently launched her first ever EP, “Resilience”, which captures versatility. Despite each track sharing a balance of range and talent, Big Boss Vette reveals the creative process behind each song occurred while she was in a different head space. She wanted to create these different worlds to give her “cousins” options and to further showcase her adaptability to the never-changing industry and world around her. She wants her cousins to be able to freely “pop their shit” and “scream it [the lyrics to her songs] like they wrote it”.

COVER ART

While the RESILIENCE art cover may seem like an automatic fit, Big Boss Vette reveals choosing the art was a definite battle. She explains her struggle with wanting the art to be playful but not too playful and serious but not too serious. She settled on a gorgeous photo of herself surrounded by handwritten words. These words belong to a letter Big Boss Vette had written to herself just a year earlier releasing any and all doubts she had of and within herself. While expressing the ups and downs of her career and being further questioned about how she deals with the challenges, she reveals she is often able to transfer negative comments and energy into motivation to fuel her. The star says “If you don’t love or like me, you don’t exist!”.
