A lot of you may remember our rollout for our "Introductory Issue" casting. We were in search of artists of different medias. We received more than 600 comments under the post and several email submissions. Blown away that so many people wanted to be apart of this shoot (without even knowing the concept) we were absolutely blown away! To say the pressure of having to choose six artists (two musical artist, one visual artist, a model, and a photographer) was intense is an absolute understatement but, we are beyond obsessed with the outcome and hope you are too!
When mapping out this concept I wanted to capture exactly what JAMDED is about and what we plan/are doing for the creative community. JAMDED’s sole mission is to provide a platform and comfort for all aspiring talents and aspirations. For this concept I wanted to gather artists of different medias to come together in a home style environment and “perform” their craft. The plastic cover over the aspiration/talent ( markers and art supplies in this case) is meant to represent how many creatives shield their passion and art from the world because they don’t feel motivated, have the space to, or are simply stuck. JAMDED is here to remove this shield and expose everyone’s art to the world. Your art deserves to be seen, acknowledged, and valued and JAMDED is here to make sure it happens.
Here we see Jaida and Renee photographed as a model and photographer conducting a shoot in the comfort of their own home. The plastic cover over Jaida as she models which is one of her passions, represents both artists shielding their talents as they do what they love.
Haran and Ellei are both musical artists photographed as they are either singing along to their very own original music or writing lyrics again, in the comfort of their own home. The record player under the plastic represents the vault of unreleased music they are also hiding from the real world.
Sai is photographed here comfortably sketching as she usually would in her home. Her materials are covered by the plastic restricting her use of them and her limiting her potential by yet again hiding from the world. We are able to see this theme and concept reflected again with Nevae, the fashion designer, as she covers her custom 1 of 1 pieces.
Stay tuned for our physical issue for one on one exclusive interviews from each artist!
So good Jam!! You’re Going to be an important pillar in the creative community 🫶🏾🫶🏾✨
Love this concept so much and love what you’re doing for the artistic community. The symbolism of the plastic = creatives hiding their creations is so powerful. Never deprive the world of you art, it can heal someone.
